Did you know that SaskAbilities operates a Paediatric Wooden Equipment Program? This program, which launched in 2014, offers many items including height adjustable chairs and tables as well as therapy benches. Camp Easter Seal

Did you know that when Camp Easter Seal began offering camps for children, youth and adults experiencing disability in 1954, we hosted our inaugural camps at two rented locations: United Church Campsite at Manitou Beach and Crystal Lake in East-Central Saskatchewan. Did you know that Camp Easter Seal has had a brush with royalty? In 1959, campers attending Camp Easter Seal were honoured to meet Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second!  

Yorkton Branch

Did you know that the Yorkton Branch of SaskAbilities operates a Crisis Prevention and Support Program? Our highly trained Crisis Interventionists and Outreach Crisis Support Workers strive to understand an individual’s crisis cycle, and through client-centred support, implement positive programming which aligns with the individual’s person-centred plan. 

Did you know that both Yorkton and Swift Current operate recycling programs? Yorkton Branch’s RecyclAbility diverted ten tonnes of commercial and residential waste from the landfill in its first four years of operation! Did you know that the Yorkton Branch provides supports, delivers personal and professional growth opportunities, and facilitates community integration for individuals with mental health diagnoses or barriers through our Partners in Mental Health and Well-being program? Regina Branch

Swift Current Branch

SaskAbilities is proud to support individuals experiencing disability in Swift Current and nearby rural communities. Did you know that our Swift Current Branch opened in 1965 and currently serves hundreds of individuals each year? 

Did you know that Swift Current began providing accessible bus services to the community in 1971? SaskAbilities is very proud to offer this important service! 

Saskatoon Branch 

Did you know that the Saskatoon Branch of SaskAbilities is located at 1410 Kilburn Avenue, and has been in this location since 1959? Historical 

Did you know that in its first year of operation, SaskAbilities, then named the  Saskatchewan Council for Crippled Children, exclusively served children? Our services expanded to support adults in 1951. 

Did you know that SaskAbilities held its first annual 24-hour relay for Easter Seal Kids in 1987? $43,198 was raised during this event, and its success led to many future 24-hour relays in support of this cause. 

Did you know that over our 75 years, SaskAbilities has had 5 different logos? These logos are representative of our ongoing evolution and commitment to our vision, mission, and values.  In 2017, to reflect our organization’s progress and evolution while still maintaining a respectful nod to our history and roots in the community, we introduced a name change, from the Saskatchewan Abilities Council to SaskAbilities.
