“SaskAbilities and Camp Easter Seal were created from a belief that ‘we can’ and ‘we will’. Campers and clients aren’t defined by what they can do, but rather, who they are, how big their hearts are, and what they can achieve. What if we could all view ourselves from that lens? What might be possible for everyone if we all focused a bit more on what is going right, rather than what is going wrong?”

It says something about our society and the people in it when we have these recreational programs available for individuals like Nick and Kaleb. It’s a place where they can go and just be themselves. Yes, there is structure and supervision but it’s still their time to hang out and have fun. There aren’t many places that have people like my son in mind and support him in the ways SaskAbilities does. When he’s having a good time with his best friend Kaleb doing an activity or game, any limitations he might have, don’t exist in that moment.”

“What we want for Jana is the same thing all parents want for their children. We want her to be successful, whatever that looks like for her. We want her to meet her potential, to communicate and articulate what she needs, to be social and have meaningful relationships, and most of all to live a full life. I have always wanted for Jana to have the same experiences growing up as her brother and sister, or any other child.”

“Cody lives for the moment. To have an environment like Camp Easter Seal where he can go and squeeze a little bit extra out of life, experience a level of freedom he doesn’t usually get. It means so much to him and for us, his family – to see his excitement, it makes us so happy that he has something that brings him so much joy in his life.”

“I went from a chair that I could hardly sit in, to one that I can comfortably be in for hours and that makes life so much easier. I honestly couldn’t believe what they could do there. They really did change my life. Without having access to SaskAbilities, life would be a lot more difficult for me.”

“I can’t say enough about the staff, it feels like a family here. To have them not only support our engagement but also host a party for us, it was overwhelming in a good way. Having everyone’s support and encouragement means so much to both of us. There’s no other place we would get this type of support and encouragement.”
